1. Watch the video above on how to use Michigan eLibrary (mel.org )
2. Next let's learn how to do a proper search so that when you search the databases in mel.org that you are finding the most appropriate information without spending too much time on your search.
3. Watch this video on how you can use Boolean Logic to narrow down your search. Check out this interactive tutorial on how to use and/or/not to refine your searches.
4. Go to mel.org and click on Kids under the Mel Subject Gateways.
5. Go to the Kids Infobits database and using the Advanced Search type in U.S. Constitution and branches.
6. Using the resources you found, answer the following questions in a word processing document.
a. What three branches were created by the Constitution?
b. Which branch of government makes the country's laws?
c. How many members are in the House of Representatives?
7. Next go to Dictionary.com and look up and listen to the following words and type the correct definition as it relates to the U.S. Constitution in your document.
a. ratify
b. amendment
c. assemble
8. Reread the definitions of assemble.
9. Go to Britannica School in Michigan eLibrary and find images to depict both meanings of the word assemble. Copy or screenshot the two images as well as the picture title and caption into your document.
10. Save your document in your file space, lastname.firstname.T9Q1.
